FAQ’s:

What is screen printing?

Screen printing, or silk screening, is the process of printing graphics on a t-shirt using thick inks that lay on top of the shirt material. Screen-printing is what most companies use to decorate shirts. Essentially we are creating a stencil, using light sensitive material that allows us to take images from a digital source and burn them into a frame. We then take the frame and using special ink we can apply the image on to any kind of fabric. Screen-printing only allows for one color to be used at a time (unless you use a method called split-fountain which creates gradients) so colors have to be chosen wisely in the graphics creation stage of design. That is why we highly encourage you to use our graphics department to guarantee a successful print!

Can I print one shirt?

Yes, but no, we recommend printing at least one dozen (12 shirts) or two dozen (24 shirts) to start your first run. Printing one shirt is not recommended as set up time and break down time will take much longer than the printing time itself on our end. On your end the screen set up fees will make the single shirt expensive to produce.

How many colors can I print on my shirt?

Our press has six-color heads which means we can print up to six colors on a shirt. However there are other methods like CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) which function the same way a computer printer does. Using four colors we can create a print with any and every color by combining and overlapping the CMYK colors. There is another method that is called simulated process printing which functions the same as CMYK but uses a limited palette to create a variety of colors within the palette, imagine for a moment, printing an image of a lion that uses colors like yellow, tans, browns, and golds when combined can create a beautiful image with a lot of depth and color range. This process works great on dark colored shirts, while CMYK works better on light colored shirts.

How is everything priced?

We have a tiered system of pricing. The more shirts you order, the more discounts on the per shirt cost. The more colors you order the higher the per shirt price will be. The larger the print the more expensive the price will be. The same is true for our embroidery services. With the screen printing, we charge a screen set up of $15 per screen.
